Senator Thompson’s Local Food for Schools Program Signed into Law

OKLAHOMA CITY - Senator Kristen Thompson, R-Edmond, today applauded the signing of one of her key legislative priorities, creating the Oklahoma Local Food for Schools Program.

Senate Bill 985 establishes a framework to connect Oklahoma schools with locally produced agricultural products, helping schools incorporate fresher, Oklahoma-grown foods into student meals while supporting the state’s farmers, ranchers and food producers.
