Sen. Sacchieri Highlights Lexington Wastewater Infrastructure Funding, Calls for Additional Resources for District 43 Communities

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sen. Kendal Sacchieri, R-Blanchard, today praised the $1.5 million wastewater system loan with full principal forgiveness awarded to the Lexington Public Works Authority by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB).

The project will allow Lexington to conduct a citywide sanitary sewer evaluation survey (SSES) to address water quality concerns, reduce strain on the community’s wastewater treatment plant, and ensure reliable service for residents and businesses.

Sacchieri said this type of investment is exactly what many communities in District 43 need.

“Water is one of the most critical challenges in my district,” Sacchieri said. “Communities like Lexington, Tri-City, and others are struggling with aging infrastructure and limited resources. I’m grateful to see Lexington receive this much-needed support, and I hope this marks the beginning of broader efforts to bring aid to the entire region. Clean, reliable water and sewer systems are not luxuries — they are essential for families, public health, and long-term economic growth.”

The OWRB’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund program, with support from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, has provided nearly $2.9 billion in water quality loans to Oklahoma communities since its inception.
