OKLAHOMA CITY — On April 26, the Biden administration revised Title IX to include transgender entitlements for participation in women’s sports and spaces, rejecting the natural definitions of biological sex embraced by sane societies for millennia. Amidst this upheaval, Oklahoma’s State Superintendent Ryan Walters stands firm, defending fundamental biology and Christian values against this erosion of society’s foundations.

Biden’s Title IX Assault on Biological Realities

Under the guise of “equality” and “rights,” the Biden administration has now positioned itself against the natural order that forms the bedrock of civilized society. The Title IX rule changes codify the right for gender-fluid, gender-nonconforming, and intersex-identifying students to access female spaces. Biden’s Education Secretary, Miguel Cardona, suggests these changes will foster safer, more welcoming schools. How giving young men, identifying as girls, the right to freely to enter the sanctity of girls’ locker rooms, restrooms, and spaces achieves that end remains a mystery to serious people. Obviously, these changes are attacks on women and essential truths. Dismissing the binary nature of biological sex as a mere “social construct” is to inject toxic sludge into the veins of a society certain to go septic.

Ryan Walters’ Bold Stand Against Federal Mandates

As a bold, outspoken leader, Ryan Walters has refused to comply with the federal government’s mandates, seeing them as threats to the safety and sanctity of young women. He articulates his position directly: “We will not stand by as the federal government attempts to impose a false understanding of gender that threatens the safety and well-being of our students." Walters champions, not only privacy and safety in Oklahoma schools, but also the very cornerstone of societal truth. His stand echoes the protective zeal of a father over his children.

Controversial Legacy and TERF Wars

Much has changed with Title IX. Its original intent was to ensure equal access for women to education, athletics, and scholarships, a goal championed by many feminists. However, the expansion of these protections to include transgenderism has led to divisions within the feminist movement, with some arguing that transgenderism diminishes the rights and safety of women who rightly acknowledge the biological distinctions between men and women . TERFs (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists) are locking arms with conservatives, arguing that “trans women aren’t really women at all. … Most of their ideas.. are a threat to cisgender women’s safety.” Biden’s changes are too radical even for the radicals of the previous generation.

Cultural and Spiritual Implications the New (but Old) Theocracy

The changes to Title IX are part of a broader downturn that undermines the very bedrock of a functional society. Signaling a deep commitment to normalizing transgenderism, the Biden Regime has appointed multiple trans individuals: Rachel Levine, Shawn Skelly, and Sam Brinton. This destruction of truth is no doubt religious and reflects a new form of theocracy where transgressive and pagan ideologies replace Christianity. But this rebellion will not be without consequences. When a culture makes its bed in postmodern, transgressive chaos, it will lie in the bed of societal suicide and divine judgment.

Call to Action

Friends, mourning and criticizing the disintegration of moral values is not enough; we must act. Pray. Return to the Lord. Educate yourselves. Engage in politics at every level, educate others, write to and call your representatives, and speak out in our communities against the distortion of truth. Advocate for policies that reflect the truth of Scripture and promote the well-being of all individuals, anchored in the wisdom that has guided countless generations.
