About the Senator

Julie Daniels was born and raised in Oklahoma City but has called Bartlesville her adopted hometown since 1988. She was first elected in 2016, and is honored to represent the residents of Washington, Nowata and northern Rogers Counties. Senator Daniels currently serves as Majority Floor Leader.

During her tenure in the Senate, she has served as: Assistant Majority Floor Leader, Chair of the Judiciary Committee, Chair of the Rules Committee and Chair of the Administrative Rules Committee. Sen. Daniels has also served as a member of the Appropriations, Education, Finance, Energy and Business Committees. She has authored legislation to protect the unborn, guard First Amendment rights, advance lawsuit and regulatory reform, champion free markets and support parental education choice.

Sen. Daniels serves on the Board of Directors of the American Legislative Exchange Council where she also chairs the Judiciary Task Force. She has been honored by ALEC with their Thomas Jefferson Award.

Daniels serves as Vice President of the Oklahoma Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. She has been active in the Boys & Girls Club of Bartlesville since 2010, serving as Board President, Capital Campaign Vice Chairman and board member. She was named “Alliance State Champion” by Boys & Girls Clubs of American in 2019.

Daniels is a former Mayor of Bartlesville and served eight years on the City Council. Prior to her election she spent three decades in volunteer leadership in Bartlesville. At the state level Daniels served on the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission and the Oklahoma Centennial Commemoration Commission. She is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and Leadership Bartlesville.

Daniels graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Letters and earned her J.D. at the University of Tulsa College of Law. She and husband Charlie have been married forty-eight years. When home at the weekends, Sen. Daniels enjoys being “Nana” to Georgie (6), Callan (4) and Margot (2).
