(Kirby/Helton): Creates a seven member Gulf War syndrome
Outreach Committee comprised of at least two Gulf War
veterans and one Gulf War-era veteran.
The duties of the committee
include:
- Advise the State Health
Commissioner in developing and conducting an outreach
program to identify and inform veterans about potential
detrimental effects of exposure to causative agents
during the Gulf War;
- Obtain and provide
information about medical, scientific and epidemiological
data on the effects of exposure to those substances
during the war;
- Provide military
veterans with a list of appropriate health care
professionals or medical institutions for diagnosis of
signs and symptoms related to exposure to causative
agents during the Gulf War; and
- Confer with other states
conducting similar research.
