The Senate Sunset Committee approved the re-creation of eight entities pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law which reviews state agencies, boards and commissions for the purpose of terminating entities that are no longer performing their stated purposes. The entities which were re-created were: The State Board of Cosmetology, the State Barber Advisory Board, the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission, the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Training, Treatment and Rehabilitation Authority, the Scenic River Commission, the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Advisory Committee the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. The Oklahoma Soybean Commission requested to be sunset and the Committee concurred due to changes in federal law which affect this program. Additionally, the Committee acted on clean-up bills relating to the Governor's veto of one Sunset bill from 1996.
