SB 468
(Fisher/Benson): Changes the law requiring the Department of
Public Safety to deny driving privileges to persons under 18
years who are not enrolled in high school or have not
graduated. The change will allow students who are
home-schooled to get a drivers license upon a written
statement from parents..
SB 469
(Helton/Kirby): Amends SB 468 by allowing a drivers license
to be issued to a person under 18 when school is out upon a
notarized written statement from the parent or legal
guardian that the child completed the previous school year
and is enrolled or intends to enroll for the subsequent
school year.
The bill also requires
drivers to yield to police vehicles using either audible
signals or flashing red lights.
