OKLAHOMA CITY – Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd, D-Oklahoma City, released the following statement after the death of Nex Benedict, a student at Owasso High School, who passed on Feb. 8, a day after reportedly being involved in a physical altercation at school.

“This is a deeply concerning situation, and investigations are underway. I think it is extremely important to let the facts come to light, but one fact is indisputable right now – a family has lost a child. At this point in time, I want to express my deepest condolences to Nex’s family and all who are grieving this terrible loss.” – Senate Democratic Leader Kay Floyd, D-Oklahoma City.
