Statement from Senate Pres. Pro Tempore Brian Bingman on passing of former member

President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman comments on the death this week of former state Sen. William “Bill” Schuelein, 86, of Miami. A Democrat, Schuelein represented District 1 in the Oklahoma Senate from 1972 to 1992. He passed away on Wednesday at his home.

“I regret that I never knew Sen. Schuelein because his colleagues talk of a man of integrity who served his northeast Oklahoma constituents well. It is always difficult when a member of the state Senate passes away, but I know he left a legacy in his district and beyond and will be remembered fondly for his service to the state. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends today.” –Senate President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman, R-Sapulpa
