Fields commends OSU Multispectral Laboratories, recipient of Pro Patria Award

Sen. Eddie Fields Sen. Eddie Fields

Sen. Eddie Fields today congratulated Oklahoma State University-University Multispectral Laboratories (OSU-UML), based in Ponca City, for receiving one of the highest civilian honors given by the United States Department of Defense (DOD), for their support of National Guard and Reserve employees.

OSU-UML was presented with the Pro Patria Award, an honor given to employers that show exceptional support for national defense by adopting personnel policies that make it easier for employees to participate in the National Guard and Reserves.

“I am pleased and proud of the important work taking place at OSU-UML,” said Fields, R-Wynona. “With the vital role they play in aiding so many aspects of defense research and innovation, it is no surprise OSU-UML exhibits such a deep commitment to our men and women in uniform.”

OSU-UML is a public-private partnership that accelerates the development and testing of new technologies, particularly in the areas of national defense and homeland security.

“This award reflects the commitment of the UML to hire returning veterans and help them build a successful career in the private sector,” said Bob Scott, director of OSU-UML. “We are truly grateful to be recognized by the DOD for this honor.”
