Pro Tem Bingman statement on Equalization Board Final Certification

Sen. Brian Bingman Sen. Brian Bingman

Oklahoma Senate President Pro Tempore Brian Bingman issued the following statement after Tuesday’s State Equalization Board meeting. According to the final certification, slightly more than $7 billion in revenue will be available for state budgeting in fiscal year 2014, which represents an increase of $212.6 million over fiscal year 2013.

“I am encouraged by our continued growth and recovery from the national recession, and I am urging my fellow lawmakers to continue advancing a pro-growth agenda to sustain our forward momentum,” said Bingman, R-Sapulpa. “Increased revenue should be cautiously celebrated as a sign of Oklahoma’s growing economic strength. With looming uncertainty in our nation’s capital, we ought to thoughtfully target what we must spend on core government services.”
