Oklahoma Senate on Twitter
Members of the media and the public alike can now get updates from
the Oklahoma State Senate on Twitter. The tweets will be sent by
the Senate Communications Department, a nonpartisan staff division
that serves all 48 members of the Oklahoma State Senate. The messages,
also known as tweets, will include updates on key committee and
task force meetings, press conferences and floor action on specific
legislation.
“I’m very proud of our entire Senate staff for the work
they’ve done in the past several years to take advantage of
technology, from getting legislation online, to live streaming audio
and video from two of our main committee rooms as well as the chamber,”
said Sen. Glenn Coffee, President Pro Tempore of the Senate. “The
Senate Communication tweets can give people a heads up on key events
and help interested individuals keep up with big events at the State
Capitol.”
OKSENATEINFO will kick-off the service this week with reminders
of upcoming interim study meetings, links to press releases and
media advisories. Links for audio files, as well as streaming audio
and video for important legislation, will be sent as well.
