STATEMENT FROM SENATE PRESIDENT
PRO TEM GLENN COFFEE ON STATE REVENUE FIGURES
“The reality of a tough budget year has been known
for sometime. And now our state faces the task of tightening
budgets even more and preparing for the difficult days ahead.
Fiscal responsibility continues to be crucial.
“Despite the numbers provided today, we have to remember the
preparation and safeguards previously put in place for this very
scenario. The presence of a full rainy day fund, and conservative
budgeting practices and laws allow Oklahoma to be in a much better
place than other states.
“Oklahoma has seen its share of tough times, yet continues to
persevere. The road ahead will be tough, but we look forward to
listening to the Governor’s ideas and working alongside him, the
Speaker and state agencies to address the shortfall.”
