Mrs. Oklahoma Honored in Senate
An extraordinary Tulsa woman was honored by
the Senate Tuesday for her outstanding accomplishments and
contributions to her family and community. Senate Resolution
27, by Sen. Bill Brown, congratulates Chastity "Chazz"
Anderson for her selection as Mrs. Oklahoma 2006 and commends
her for helping raise awareness of Lupus in Oklahoma.
“We just want to commend Chastity for acting as a
role model for married women showing that as a wife, mother,
community servant and full-time employee, her work, contributions
and causes are both valued and recognized,” said Brown.
“We were so honored to have her and wish her the best
in the future.”
Anderson won the title of Mrs. Oklahoma on June 24, 2006
at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma. She went
on to compete in the Mrs. America Pageant held August 23-September
6 in Tucson, Arizona, where she won the barrel-racing event.
Diagnosed over three years ago, Anderson, as Mrs. Oklahoma,
has had the opportunity to promote Lupus awareness. She
is a Certified Facilitator with the Lupus Foundation of
America, Oklahoma Chapter, where she leads a support group
and assists with fund-raising.
A resident of Broken Arrow, Anderson has worked for over
13 years in the banking industry. She is currently the Assistant
Vice President/Operations Manager for Bank of Oklahoma,
managing the fraud department. She has also served as a
Junior Achievement Counselor for almost ten years, and owns
and operates a hobby business in photography.
She also serves as a board member and co-chair for the Oklahoma
Prom Angel Charity (OPAC). The organization was established
to assist young women in Oklahoma with financially challenged
backgrounds achieve higher self-esteem and a sense of self-worth
by making it possible for them to attend their junior/senior
proms. Each year, thousands of Oklahoma girls are unable
to attend their proms because they lack the finances to
purchase the dresses, shoes and jewelry they feel is necessary
to attend. OPAC helps these young women’s prom dreams
come true.
Anderson and her husband, Greg, have one daughter, Morgan,
who is six years old.
