Senate Leader Comments on Governor’s Plan To Boost Education Spending by $359 Million

Statement By Senate President Pro Tempore Mike Morgan

“I am pleased to see Governor Henry continuing his commitment to invest in Oklahoma’s future by proposing an ambitious budget for our public schools, colleges and universities and world-class career tech system.

“I believe we must maximize the dollars we can direct into our education system and, at first blush, it appears the governor’s proposal will do that. Of course, as with any financial plan, we will have to see how his proposal fits into the overall budget picture when the State Board of Equalization sets the Legislature’s appropriation authority next month.”
