Senator Brown represents the
citizens of Senate District 36.
In 2006, he was appointed by the President
Pro-Tempore Morgan and Co-President Pro-Tempore Coffee to serve
as the Co-Chairman of the Retirement and Insurance Committee. Since 2008, he has served as Chairman of that committee.
In 2011, he was also appointed to serve on the Select Committee
on Pensions to address the more than $16 billion in unfunded liabilities
of the state's pension systems.
Senator Brown was born and raised
in Henryetta Oklahoma. He attended Northeasten State University
and received a degree in Education. Bill taught school for
4 years, before going into the Insurance Business. Sen.
Brown also owns the Lake Eufala Marina
Senator Brown is a civic leader with
a passion for service. He was president of the Broken Arrow Rotary
Club and is currently the president of Gatesway Foundation, an organization
that helps the mentally and physically disabled.
Senator Brown is married to Linda
Brown, a longtime teacher at Park Lane Elementary School in Broken
Arrow. They have four children and nine grandchildren. As
a Broken Arrow citizen for thirty years, Bill has always held fast
to his conservative principles. Faith is of utmost importance to
Bill and his family.
