Brown represents the citizens of Senate District 36, which encompasses
sections of Broken Arrow and Tulsa.
Brown was born
and raised in Henryetta. His father was killed in WWII when his
ship sank in the Pacific Ocean. Seaman Elbert Lee Brown was buried
at sea and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart. Sen. Brown
was able to get a marker for his father in Arlington National Cemetery,
honoring a father he never met.
a degree in Education, Sen. Brown taught school for four years before
entering the insurance industry, which he continued for 44 yrs before
retiring in 2013. His family also owns the Lake Eufaula Marina.
is a civic leader with a passion for service. He was president of
the Broken Arrow Rotary Club as well as the past president and board
member of the Gatesway Foundation, an organization that helps the
mentally and physically disabled.
When he was first elected in 2006, he served as Co-Chair of the
Senate Insurance Committee and has served as Chairman of the committee

is married to Linda Brown, a retired teacher in the Broken Arrow
public school district. They have four children and nine grandchildren.
As a Broken Arrow citizen for over forty years, Bill has always
held fast to his conservative principles. Faith is of the utmost
importance to Bill and his family.
